Home Economics Department
Home Economics is a very interesting, useful and enjoyable subject as it provides pupils with opportunities to develop their practical skills in handling and working with food.
All pupils, up to Key Stage 3 are encouraged to partake in the practical element of the subject.
The interrelationships between diet, health, family, home and resources are addressed in both practical and theoretical contexts.
Key Stage 4 GCSE Home Economics is divided into three units:
Unit 1: Diet and Health, and Consumer Awareness
Unit 2: Diet and Health (Controlled Assessment)
Unit 3: Consumer Awareness (Controlled Assessment)
