Learning Support Centre (LSC)

The College has a Learning Support Centre to cater for pupils who have received a statement for their educational needs. The learning support centre is a place where pupils feel comfortable and where they can develop with confidence. All pupils in the LSC follow the Northern Ireland Curriculum.

At Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, pupils attend the LSC for English and Maths. Literacy skills are reinforced through reading, writing, spelling, speaking and listening. Pupils’ numeracy and mental maths skills are reinforced through the use of interactive materials. There is also an emphasis on preparing for adult life. At Key Stage 4, pupils work towards both Entry Level and Essential Skills Level 1 in Communication and Application of Number. The units of work are selected to match the ability and interests of our pupils and cover a range of topics that are used in everyday life.
